About Tess Hunneybell
About My Practice
My practice is grounded in gentle, compassionate healing—focusing not on reliving trauma or labeling experiences but on fostering resilience and transformation. I believe deeply that healing is possible for everyone, and I’m dedicated to helping people find relief and empowerment through an integrated, science-based approach.
About Healing Trauma Retreats and San Flaviano
I founded the San Flaviano Monastery Retreat Centre in Italy to create a nurturing space for women seeking deep, transformative healing. San Flaviano is my home, and I’ve opened its doors to offer a highly effective, gentle path to recovery. These retreats are designed to support healing in a safe, supportive environment—far from the pressures of daily life.

Social Justice and Humanitarian Work
I believe giving back is an essential part of the human experience. Alongside my practice, I run my own charity and volunteer with other organizations, creating safe, compassionate environments for healing.
I founded, Every Kid Counts – Senegal, supporting children in crisis by providing essentials like nutrition, water, medical care, clothing, and education, along with opportunities for sports and a safe space for kids to simply be kids.
I also lead a trauma care project funded by The Rothschild Foundation, supporting newly arrived women and children from Ukraine as they integrate with host families. This project involves trauma care, workshops, and the creation of the first Ukrainian War Memorial Garden in the UK.
Over the years, I’ve worked extensively in Southern Spain, Dominica, Mexico, Africa and other regions, helping people rebuild and move forward. These experiences have been profoundly rewarding and continue to inspire my ongoing work.
